As a product of Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Abby Rosenthal came to CCU in 2006 and left her mark as one of the top women’s basketball players in school history. Abby’s outstanding play and leadership qualities made her an integral part in changing the culture of Cougars women’s basketball.
An excellent student, Abby was a three time RMAC All-Academic member and was named the 2009-2010 Academic Player of the Year. Her impressive play on the court was also widely recognized. She was a two time RMAC All-East 1
st Team member and for the 2008-2009 season, was named the NCCAA Regional MVP and a 1
st team NCCAA All-American.
Abby holds the school single season record for blocked shots with 58 as well as the single season record for rebounds with 303, both coming during the 2008-2009 season. Remarkably, she occupies 3 of the top 5 spots in both single season record categories. Over the course of four years, Abby lands in the top 5 of 6 offensive categories including points, field goals, field goal attempts, field goal percentage, free throws made, and free throws attempted. She is the Cougars all-time career leader in blocks with 161 and rebounds with 1020.
After earning her degree in 2010, Abby married another CCU basketball stand-out, Jobi Wall.
