Mullen earned All-American status after the 2012 season. She finished 22nd at the NCAA Division II National Championships to earn the accolade. At the time Mullen was just the third NCAA All-American in school history.

The native of Colorado Springs was named the RMAC Freshman of the Year as well that season. She finish seventh at the conference championship; still the best finish by a Colorado Christian runner at the event. Mullen bettered her effort at the NCAA South Central Region Championships by placing fifth.

She earned all-conference and all-region honors in each of the two seasons she competed.

In 2013 she was selected to compete for Team USA at the 2013 NACAC Cross Country Championship in Jamaica.
