Hall of Fame
In only three years at Colorado Christian University, Katie Fitzgerald solidified her name as the most decorated tennis player in CCU history. She made an immediate impact as a sophomore transfer from California State University—Northridge by providing leadership and big wins. By the end of her senior year, she had not lost more than eight total singles matches, and found herself ranked regionally and nationally for both her singles and doubles efforts.
In the classroom, Katie proved even better than on the court. With an overall GPA of 3.6, she received RMAC Academic All-Conference recognition twice, and graduated with honors in 2003. Her community and school involvement far exceed the expectations for a player and student of her caliber. She served as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee president for two years, and was very active in ministries all over the Denver area. In the summer of 2003, she represented CCU on a mission trip to Russia.
In all, the Santa Maria, California native received two RMAC Player of the Year honors, three first team All-RMAC Singles nods, two second team All-RMAC Doubles awards, three All-Academic awards, and was named CCU’s 2003 Female Senior Athlete of the Year.
